New Oscars menus, same Oscars philosophy
We like to keep things fresh here at Oscars – just like our ingredients. So with summer just around the corner, we’ve launched new menus full of seasonal surprises to shake things up a little.
Our head chef John Cook and his team have been very busy behind the scenes at Oscars, lovingly creating the new menus. Our new menus still feature our most popular classics as we know we’d be inundated with complaints if we got rid of our much-loved diamond rump steak or the classic Oscars burger but they also offer a large selection of original fresh salads with an interesting Oscars twist. We’ll give you a hint: purple potatoes….
But the excitement doesn’t stop there – there are a number of new mouth-watering mains and decadent desserts that we have lined up for you to discover.
Pork belly rashers, salt roast lamb cutlets and free range Merrifield duck are just three of the new culinary delights we have introduced.
We have a strict quality control policy here at Oscars so when putting together these menus, John considered only the finest locally sourced ingredients. From our fairly-traded coffee to our fresh and sustainably sourced fish, we guarantee that everything on the menu is the best quality available. Because it’s only good enough for our customers if it’s good enough for John, and – trust us – his standards are very high!
Talking about sustainable fish and high standards, we are huge supporters of a campaign called ‘Hugh’s Fish Fight’ which encourages diversifying our fish eating habits to preserve fish stocks. Taking inspiration from this campaign, we’ve recently changed our fresh fish suppliers to ensure that all of our fish is caught locally from Swansea day boats. The result? We can provide a wide range of delicious fresh fish which varies according to fish stocks. If you’re a lobster fan, you may be pleased to know that we’ve also added fresh Gower line-caught lobster to the menu. This will be subject to availability of course.
We kept our young customers in mind when varying our popular children’s menu. As our customers know, we are a family-friendly restaurants and we strongly believe that children’s needs are as important as the adults. So we aim to maintain the use of a range of fresh ingredients and different textures to keep little ones’ tastebuds interested.
Equally, we take our vegetarian dishes seriously and insist on a varied vegetarian offering. We wanted to ensure that our new vegetarian dishes were an exciting combination of ingredients, and we were really excited to unveil a much-loved family favourite – Mrs Hitchcock’s sage & white onion roast with a hazelnut crumb and a summer vegetable ragu.
All of our menus can be found here. We hope that you will visit us very soon to try our new menu yourself. The only difficulty we think you’ll have is deciding which dish to go for!
